1.Explore Comuna 13 (Street Art & Escalators)

One of Medellín’s most dangerous neighborhoods, Comuna 13 is now famous for its vibrant street art, music, and culture. Visitors come for guided graffiti tours, street performances, and the outdoor escalators that connect the hillside community.

Why go:

  • Incredible murals telling the story of Medellín’s transformation

  • Street dancers and hip-hop shows

  • Amazing city views

2. Visit Plaza Botero & the Museum of Antioquia

Botero Plaza is a famous public square filled with 23 oversized sculptures donated by Colombian artist Fernando Botero.

What to do here:

  • Walk among the giant bronze statues

  • Visit the nearby Museum of Antioquia

  • Explore downtown Medellín’s historic district

It’s one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.

3. Ride the Metrocable to Parque Arví

Arví Park is a huge nature reserve just outside the city. It covers about 16,000 hectares of forest and trails and is one of Medellín’s top outdoor attractions.

Highlights:

  • Scenic cable car ride from the city

  • Hiking and biking trails

  • Local food markets

  • Escape into nature only ~30 minutes from downtown

4. See the View from Pueblito Paisa (Nutibara Hill)

At the top of Nutibara Hill sits Pueblito Paisa, a replica of a traditional Antioquia village. The hill is a preserved natural area in the center of the city and a popular lookout.

Why it’s great:

  • One of the best panoramic views of Medellín

  • Cute colonial-style plaza and church

  • Souvenir shops and local food like bandeja paisa

Go at sunset for the best photos.

5. Relax at Barefoot Park

Barefoot Park is a unique zen-style park where visitors are encouraged to walk barefoot through sand, water, and gardens.

What makes it fun:

  • Relaxing bamboo gardens

  • Interactive water fountains

  • A calm break from busy downtown
